Caps Island
Rust knitted cuffed beanie held up against a light grey background

Custom beanies

  • From 500 pcs
  • Samples in 7–14 days
  • 2 styles

Beanies are knitted, not cut and sewn, which changes almost every development decision. Yarn, gauge, rib structure and cuff height define the look and the fit. Branding is usually a woven label, a patch or embroidery on the cuff, and a jacquard knit-in logo is possible for larger runs.

Beanies: styles

Development platforms to start from. Each has a full specification.

How beanies are built

A beanie is knitted as a tube, closed at the crown and folded or finished at the base. A rib structure (1x1 or 2x2) gives stretch and recovery. A cuffed beanie folds the lower part back to make a double layer where the label sits. A fisherman beanie is shorter and sits above the ears.

Typical buyer requirements

  • A soft hand that does not itch
  • Color matching of yarn to brand colors
  • Fit that works across an adult audience
  • Branding on the cuff that stays visible when worn
Can yarn be dyed to a Pantone color?

Yarn color matching is possible; the approach and any minimums for custom dyed yarn are confirmed on the quotation.

Embroidery or woven label on a beanie?

Embroidery sits directly on the knit and can pull the rib slightly. A woven label is cleaner and more durable on fine knits.

Is one size enough?

Rib knits stretch, so most beanies are one size. Kids' sizes are a separate specification.
